Hi! I'm Steve.

My journey into user experience design was nontraditional. Throughout my professional career, I combined my skills as a physical therapist and an entrepreneur, which eventually led me to UX design.

In my role as an entrepreneur, I learned how to listen to my customers and create user-centric software solutions. From 2009 to 2020, I founded and ran 90 Revolutions, Inc. It was an honor and a great learning experience to be a business owner, a project manager, and a designer. As I researched the needs of the users, talked with them, wireframed solutions, and created prototypes of the final software for endurance athletes, I found myself becoming a UX designer on the job while managing a software engineering team. I loved the idea of creating scalable solutions that could help several people and keep a well-oiled machine up and running. This led me to the field of user experience.

As a physical therapist, you listen and empathize with patients, and you quickly synthesize a solution to their ailments. In minutes, you find the literal pain points, causes of pain, and create a treatment plan. Physical therapy is similar to UX design. Both require excellent empathy and listening skills. In each position, you need to strategize and create a solution. My physical therapy skills and training combined with my UX design and training have made me a more efficient professional with the ability to create solutions that the user wants.

My desire is to continue to further my UX design skills to architect a variety of software solutions. My background in physical therapy is a natural fit for fitness and healthcare, but those skills are transferable into automobile design, defense, and any other challenge.
